As many of you know, Vicarage Court Care home has many partnerships with local schools and colleges. On 26th March 2015, local schoolchildren performed for the residents at the care home as part of the Easter festivities.
The performance was enjoyed by the residents and the children had an opportunity to interact with residents. Below is a short video of the performance.
Tai Chi Classes have started at the Vicarage Court Care home for all the residents. Residents from all 3 units have been offered them and many have taken the option. Residents had the option doing the motions while being seated or standing. Many choose to stand once they got into the flow of the class. Other residents watched and it became a fun atmosphere.
After the class, one resident commented, ” I feel young and relaxed. The music and aromas used in the class are very nice.”
The residents and staff at the Vicarage Court Care home have been busy preparing the Halloween festivities on Friday at the Carehome. Residents coloured in decorations and helped put them up in all units. Some residents got involved in pumpkin carving. Some of which are pictured below.

The residents celebrated St Georges day. Saint George’s Day is the feast day of Saint George and the National Day for England, although it is not an official national holiday in England. It is celebrated by various Christian churches and by the several nations, kingdoms, countries, and cities of which Saint George is the patron saint. Saint George’s Day is celebrated on 23 April, the traditionally accepted date of Saint George’s death in AD 303.
The residents in all units did artwork on St George and shared songs. The patriotic spirit was very evident. It was a good experience for the residents to use their artwork skills.
The Vicarage Court Care home supports the Dignity in Care campaign. The care home now has numerous staff who are Dignity in Care Champions. The aim is to ensure best practice in care and enhance the dignity of the residents.
After the Easter party, plans are in place for a Dignity week, which will include a series of activities to enhance the Dignity of Residents and allow the residents to celebrate their many skills and talents in a fun and educational format.
