Special dedication message to Gwen Matthewman…

This is a special dedication message for Gwen Mathewman, who was cared for over a considerable time at Vicarage Court Care home. It is rare for us to ever mention a specific residents name on here, but as Gwens life has been covered so extensively in BBC and around the world, we felt her exceptional talents should be mentioned.

Gwen sadly passed away recently. She was a World record holder in knitting and could do over 100 stitches a minute. Her talents allowed her to travel the world and she was a celebrity in Japan and many countries. She even knitted jumpers for American Astronauts.

She will be missed by all staff and management.

Below is the BBC tribute to this exceptional local lady.
