Congratulations to Linda Southall who has been awarded more qualifications. She has just been awarded a City & Guilds in Multi-Skilled Hospitality Services. Linda has worked at the Old Vicarage Care Home for 20 years now.
She already has a NVQ level 3 in Care, and City & Guild qualifications in Personal and Professional skills. She also has further qualifications in Intermediate for environmental health in kitchen, Certificate in healthy eating, diabetes awareness, etc.
It goes to show regardless of long service, our staff are dedicated to professional development.

Last week, we had a day when we gave the residents plenty of different instruments and just let them play away. It started off very noisy, with so many different instruments. Although we have recently purchased a piano, the residents preferred smaller instruments. Below is a brief video of them having fun, as they were just given the instruments. Then there is a video later of some of them dancing.
Over the last week, Elaine (activities co-ordinator) has used the valentines theme for the arts and crafts. The residents made numerous pieces of artwork. below are some pictures with them and their artwork.
Congratulations to Mr J Singh, Jean Chilton and Claire Hennessey, who all updated their “Trainer of Trainers” awards in Manual handling today.
We do alot of training in the carehome. Mr Singh is a “trainer of traniers” in manual handling, adult abuse awareness, fire safety, team work, and many other subject areas.
